Children's hospitals hail Reeve, King
Duo commended for charity towards kids' causes

The benefit awards show will be held Saturday, March 22, in Orlando and will be syndicated for a June television audience.
Reeve will be awarded for his role in helping to battle debilitating spinal cord injuries. Reeve's battle is a personal one, as he suffers the same fate as an estimated 25,000 U.S. children paralyzed from spinal cord damage. Reeve has testified before Congress and has worked with lawmakers to encourage support for the battle to find a cure.
In addition to these endeavors, Reeve has a long history of support for young people through the Save the Children Foundation, and as a member of the board of TEAM Sports, and LIFE (Leaders in Furthering Education).

Larry King will receive his award for heading his Cardiac Foundation, which seeks to help the tens of thousands of infants born in the U.S. every year with congenital heart defects. The foundation has expanded its horizons by partnering with international health organizations to assist with the most dire foreign cases by providing the specialized care and groundbreaking surgeries available at U.S. hospitals.
King also serves children's causes through his journalistic voice in addressing youth suicide, a leading cause of death among children and teens. He actively supports Save the Children and has been honored by the March of Dimes.
Past Miracle Award winners include, "ET's" Mary Hart, executive Roy Disney, actor Edward James Olmos and sports figures Jackie Joyner-Kersey and Sugar Ray Leonard.
