Strongsongs, Sony/ATV pact

Deal will help strengthen indie label's profile worldwide

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has inked a subpublishing agreement to represent Blighty-based independent music publisher Strongsongs outside the U.K.

Deal will help Strongsongs -- part of British media firm Telstar Entertainment Group -- develop a higher profile for its stable of songwriters internationally, managing director Anna Jolley said.

Strongsongs roster includes Fraser T. Smith, who plays guitar for R&B star Craig David and has co-written material with the singer for his most recent album "Slicker Than Your Average" (released on Telstar unit Wildstar Records).

Also on the team are writer-producer Pete Kirtley, who has written hits for platinum U.K. pop act Hear'say and is currently working with American teen pop heartthrob Aaron Carter, as well as pop scribes Georgie Dennis and Mick Lister.
