SYDNEY -- Sam Neill will star in "Jessica," a four-hour mini directed by Peter Andrikidis which cranks up in New South Wales next Monday.
"Jessica" is produced by Screentime for Australia's Network 10, pay-TV channel the Movie Network and Powercorp U.K.
Based on a best-selling Bryce Courtenay novel, project takes place in the early 20th century near the outback town of Narrandera.
Cast also includes Lisa Harrow ("The Last Days of Chez Nous"), Leeanna Walsman ("Love is a Four Letter Word"), John Howard and Tony Martin.
Screentime's Des Monaghan and Bob Campbell are exec producers, with Tony Buckley serving as producer.
Screentime developed the international TV phenom "Popstars" and the new format "Stripsearch -- The Real Full Monty." Among its credits are "The Potato Factory" mini based on another Courtenany novel and the drama series "MDA."
