Patrick rung for 'Ladder'

'X-Files' star goes from 'Charlie's Angels' to fireman pic

Robert Patrick is set to star with John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix in the Jay Russell-directed "Ladder 49" at Disney.

Phoenix plays a firefighter who's trapped in a blaze and looks back on his life. Patrick's character, also a fireman and with a perpetual chip on his shoulder, tries to save his comrade. Travolta plays a fire chief who acts as a mentor to the Phoenix character.

It's Patrick's second straight studio film after wrapping series "The X-Files."

Patrick, who's repped by Hyler Management and Endeavor, also recently wrapped work in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" for McG and Columbia.
