Fox pilots two comics, returns to 'Island'

Comedians Norm Macdonald ("The Norm Show") and Bob Odenkirk ("Mr. Show") have lined up sitcom pilots at Fox.

Separately, Fox officially announced the return of one-time reality smash "Temptation Island."

MacDonald's laffer, "A Minute With Stan Hooper," stars the ex-"Saturday Night Live" Weekend Update anchor as a reporter who moves with his wife from New York to rural America.

Macdonald and Barry Kemp ("Newhart," "Coach") will executive produce "Hooper," which comes from Paramount Network TV. Lori Jo Hoekstra is also onboard as an exec producer.

Odenkirk, meanwhile, is the executive producer behind "The Big Wide World of Carl Laemke." Sitcom revolves around a suburban family led by a father who refuses to grow up.

Twentieth Century Fox TV will produce "Laemke."

As for "Temptation Island," the reality skein -- which took unmarried couples and gave them a chance to hook up with other people -- wasn't expected to return after its second season posted disappointing results last year.

But with the reality craze in full bloom, Fox decided to take another stab at the show, which pulled boffo ratings in its initial run. Observers also point out that "Temptation's" second season was hampered by a tough Thursday timeslot and having to premiere in the wake of 9/11.

"Temptation Island 3," from Fox TV Studios' Fox World shingle and Rocket Science Laboratories, will follow four couples as they're separated for two weeks and allowed to choose dates from a pool of 15 single men and 15 single women.

Casting for the show kicks off Friday in Los Angeles.
