Focus ups Spencer to VP

Former GMI exec oversaw 'mama,' 'Talk'

HOLLYWOOD -- Focus Features has promoted Tim Spencer to VP of international sales. Based in the company's New York City offices, Spencer reports to Focus exec VP of international sales and distribution Glen Basner.

Spencer has been with the company since its inception last spring. Before that, he was at Good Machine Intl. for three years as director of sales.

Among the features he handled at GMI were Alfonso Cuaron's "Y tu mama tambien" and Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her." Spencer made the transition to Focus when the company absorbed GMI.

Spencer represents such titles as Radar Pictures' recently wrapped "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," directed by Marcus Nispel, and Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation." Spencer began his career doing freelance production work in New York City.
