CAA yoked to Youth firm
Agency acquires firm for corporate advisory division
Founded in 1996 by youth and trend guru Jane Buckingham, Youth Intelligence provides marketing consulting, trend forecasting and market research for companies targeting consumers between the ages of 7 and 35.
Clients of the nine-employee consulting, research and trend forecasting firm include Levi's, Microsoft, Nike, Bank of America and L'Oreal. Youth Intelligence also works with current CAA clients Coca-Cola and Motorola.
CAA prexy Richard Lovett said the acquisition offers "the intelligence our marketing clients want and need."
Buckingham, also a regular contributor to Cosmopolitan and "Good Morning America," said that with the youth demographic representing more than 100 million consumers with over $300 billion in spending power, there is "unprecedented" competition for young consumers' attention.
Youth Intelligence also publishes trend forecaster the Cassandra Report, which bases its research on 300 individually screened trendsetters in four or five cities, in addition to a nationally representative group of 750 mainstream consumers. Issued three times a year, it addresses fashion, lifestyle, products, technology and entertainment trends.
