Styne, CAA finally style deal

Move expected but deal made earlier than anticipated

Ending a contractual impasse via weeks of negotiations, Creative Artists Agency announced Wednesday that Nick Styne has officially joined CAA's motion picture talent department.

While the move to CAA was expected (Daily Variety, Dec. 10), the resolution comes much earlier than anticipated; Styne's contract at previous employer International Creative Management was known to have lasted until April.

At ICM for the last 8½ years, Styne was a senior VP, working with clients including Cameron Diaz, Rupert Everett, Luke Wilson and Selma Blair -- all of whom have joined him at CAA.

CAA prexy Richard Lovett called Styne "a great person, and a talented, dedicated agent."Styne, in a statement, called the his new gig "a privilege" and said the percentery was "an agency with vision and dignity."
