Workplace 'values'

World Brief

BBC director general Greg Dyke unveiled a new set of "BBC values" to create a positive work environment at the pubcaster on Wednesday.

The six "values" will not replace the mission statement of the BBC's first director general, Lord Reith, to "inform, educate and entertain."

The statements -- "Creativity is the lifeblood of the organization," "Audiences are at the center of everything," "We deliver quality and value for money," etc. -- came from an internal consultation with 23,000 staff and culminated in a two-day conference, which ended on Tuesday.
