HOLLYWOOD -- "Dreamcatcher," Warner Bros.' supernatural thriller based on the Stephen King bestseller, will screen March 6, the last day of ShoWest.
Announcement is the first confirmation of a major screening during the March 3-6 Las Vegas confab. Castle Rock Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures produced "Dreamcatcher," which bows commercially March 21. Pic stars Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane and Jason Lee.
In its theatrical run, the film will be accompanied by "Final Flight of the Osiris," a short conceived by the creators of "The Matrix" that serves as a prelude to May tentpole "The Matrix Reloaded."
Writer-helmer-producer Lawrence Kasdan will be on hand to introduce the pic before its 2:30 p.m. unspooling at the Theatre Des Arts at the Paris hotel.
Despite annual grousing by studios about the supposedly diminishing returns of touting major films at ShoWest, confab attendees in recent years have gotten early looks at top-grossers like "Shrek," "Spy Kids" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding."
