Serb RTS axes staff

Radio TV Serbia (RTS) employees are being laid off as part of an austerity program meant to revive Serbia's largest broadcasters.

RTS Novi Sad in the northern Serb province of Vojvodina has announced it will lay off 164 employees, about 10% of the staff. RTV Novi Sad director Petar Jovanovic said more layoffs are expected soon.
