Gov't OKs RTL's radio takeover

World Brief

The German federal cartel office has greenlit the RTL Group's takeover of 13 local radio stations from print publisher Holtzbrinck.

Holtzbrinck will transfer its 47% stake in TV news net N-TV to pan-European broadcaster RTL.

Takeover will make RTL the largest owner of commercial broadcasters in Germany. It has 17 stations in Europe, with annual revenues of $213 million.
