Urban's 'Sistas' make DVD move

Cyberbiz Brief

A Net-based parody of "Sex and the City" called "Sistas 'N the City," will make the jump to DVD in late March, the latest property by Urban Entertainment to move to a new medium.

Urban previously created "Undercover Brother" as an online series of animated shorts, then translated it to the big screen with a feature of the same name last summer. Initial plans for "Sistas" are more modest, focused initially on a DVD compilation of 10 animated shorts, each three to five minutes long, that have run on UrbanEntertainment.com. Lightyear Entertainment is releasing the disc via its distribution deal with Warner Home Video.

The shorts feature four Chicago women, described as "a publicist; a visual artist and painter; a lesbian neo-soul singer; and a bona fide BAP (Black American Princess)."
