"I couldn't be more proud to receive this award from the Producers Guild of America," Yorkin said. "It means even more being that the talented David Susskind was a dear friend of mine."
Collection of kudos
Yorkin has received six Emmys along with four other directing nods -- a Peabody Award, a Sylvania Award, a Look Award and a Directors Guild Award. TV credits for producing and exec producing include "Sanford and Son," "What's Happening!!," "One in a Million," "The Andy Williams Show" and "Carter Country." He has served as a member of the boards of the DGA and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and on the AFI board of trustees. Yorkin was inducted last year into the ATAS Hall of Fame.
PGA Awards co-chairs Bruce Cohen and Debra Hill said, "Bud Yorkin was part of the pioneering effort of the golden age of television, when producers had to invent and showcase 'live' television."
