Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey's Icon Prods. has upped Nick Hill to CEO of the U.K. Icon Group amid a raft of exec appointments in Blighty.
Hill, formally CEO of Icon Film Distribution (IFDL), will oversee all of Icon's U.K. operations, including IFDL and overseas sales and distribution arm Icon Entertainment Intl.
Andy Mayson has joined the group as chief operating officer from Artists Independent Network, where as managing director he was instrumental in the merger with New York talent agency Widescreen. Before that he was chief operating officer at Intermedia and before that worked at Polygram Filmed Entertainment and Working Title Films.
Elizabeth Draper has been promoted to general manager of IFDL, and Annabelle Howard has been moved up to head of marketing.
Alexandra Keen has joined the Icon Group as manager of legal and business affairs, reporting to Christos Michaels, chief of legal and business affairs. Simon Crowe, head of international sales, and Caroline Johnson, head of international marketing at Icon Entertainment Intl., complete the management team.
Icon's slate includes Keith Gordon's feature version of hit Brit TV series "The Singing Detective," starring Robert Downey Jr., Robin Wright Penn, Jeremy Northam, Katie Holmes and Gibson, which will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.
Other projects include U.K. production "Gladiatress," directed by Brian Grant and starring Fiona Allen, Doon Mackichan and Sally Phillips, and the Mel Smith-directed "Blackball," with Paul Kaye, James Cromwell, Johnny Vegas, Alice Evans and Vince Vaughn.
Gibson is shooting "The Passion," starring Jim Caviezel, a chronicle of the final 12 hours in the life of Christ. Gibson, Davey and Steve McEveety are producing through the Marquis Films division of Icon Prods.
