Do you want fries with that disc? The Washington Post is reporting that McDonald's has installed DVD-rental kiosks outside 18 stores in test marketing conducted in Washington, D.C., and San Francisco. Test is one of several initiatives by the burger giant to bring in more store traffic. McDonald's reported last month that it expected to close out 2002 with its first-ever money-losing quarter.
The rental machines, called Tik Tok DVD Shops, accept only credit cards and charge 99¢-$1.50 per day of rental.
