NEW YORK -- EMI Music Publishing has tapped veteran media exec William G. Sorenson as exec veepee and chief financial officer, based in New York and reporting to chairman and CEO Martin Bandier.
The 47-year-old Sorenson comes to EMI from BeMusic, the Bertelsmann division that includes direct-sales unit BMG Music Service and e-tailer
CDNow, where he was most recently exec VP and financial chief.
Prior to BeMusic, exec was at Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. for eight years, topping out as senior veep of finance from 1996-99. He's also held various posts at vidgame software maker Acclaim Entertainment, Citibank and Bank of Boston.
