The series will premiere Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. on the satcaster's flagship Sky One.
The price per episode was not revealed, but typically license fees for U.S. syndie product paid by stations abroad are modest. The payoff for the distribb comes from the fact that such shows, if successful, air for many years.
"Sky One has a reputation with its audience for bringing the best of the U.S. first to the U.K. and 'Dr. Phil' is America's talkshow of the moment. It's a great addition to Sky One's afternoon lineup," BSkyB deputy director of Broadcast Kate Marsh said.
CBI prexy Armando Nunez Jr. added: " 'Dr. Phil's' appeal is universal, and we are extremely pleased to have made such a key arrangement with Sky."
The series is already licensed in Canada on CTV, in Australia on the Nine Network and Foxtel, in Mexico on Visat, on the Mideast's Orbit and on Sweden's TV4.
"Dr. Phil," which features life strategist Dr. Phillip McGraw, is distributed in the U.S. by CBI sister company King World and produced by sister company Paramount Domestic TV.
CBI also distributes King World syndie stalwarts "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" abroad, as well as CBS-produced series including "Judging Amy" and "The District."
