Peacock ups Pope to VP

Exec o'sees 'Jordan,' 'Boomtown,' 'Jake,' 'Arthur'

The Peacock's proud of Katherine Pope, having upped the NBC Studios exec to VP of primetime series.

Pope handles the inhouse production company's oversight of strong NBC Monday night drama "Crossing Jordan" and also handles NBC Studios' production of the net's frosh drama "Boomtown."

Exec additionally oversees upcoming midseason NBC laffer "The Jake Effect," which stars Jason Bateman and Nikki Cox, as well as low-cost drama "Young Arthur."

NBC Studios prexy Ted Harbert announced Pope's promotion Tuesday.

"Katherine has a unique ability to forge airtight bonds with writers while providing nearly flawless executive skill to NBC Studios," Harbert said. "We're happy to recognize her outstanding achievements."

Pope's duties also include developing new projects alongside Harbert and Shelley McCrory, the studio's senior VP.

Pope joined NBC Studios in January 2000 as primetime series associate, working her way up most recently to director. She previously was a writer-producer on VH1's "Behind the Music."

The exec's other credits include writing and producing documentaries at CBS and serving as associate producer for A&E series "Biography."
