Spottiswoode plants fresh roots at ICM

Helmer's films include 'Sixth Day,' 'Matthew Shepard Story'

Roger Spottiswoode has signed with International Creative Management for representation in all areas.

The director of such pics as Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer "The Sixth Day" and the 18th installment of the James Bond actioner "Tomorrow Never Dies" has recently been working as a TV helmer.

Canuck director just finished Showtime original pic "Spinning Boris" with Anthony Lapaglia ("Lantana") toplining as a top American spin doctor hired to help re-elect Russian President Boris Yeltsin. Spottiswoode also helmed this year's Peacock telepic, "The Matthew Shepard Story."

He is well known for television helming credits that include HBO feature "And the Band Played On," "Hiroshima," which he co-directed with Koreyoshi Kurahara in 1995, and the Showtime biopic "Noriega." Spottiswoode started out as a screenwriter, co-penning the 1982 comedy "48 Hours" with its director, Walter Hill.

Spottiswoode was previously repped by the William Morris Agency.
