Go, Bernie

Letter to the Editor

We applaud Bernie Brillstein for his guest column ("Lost Art: Trawling for Talent," Nov. 6).

Thank you, Bernie, for taking the time to remind this community that some of the ways of the past are not such a bad thing after all. It seems that today's enormous entertainment conglomerates only want sure things and they want them quickly. Nurturing means taking care of people who have already made companies millions. Getting to know people has simply become an e-mail address.

Actually meeting someone in person and seeing things with your own eyes is the best way to appreciate all forms of art and talent. Relationships should be the reason people want to work with you. A little bit of old-fashioned values can still go a long way. Thanks, Bernie, for reminding us of that.
