City of Hope to fete 6

Philanthropic Spirit of Life Awards handed out

Six top film music execs will be saluted Thursday at the City of Hope's annual Music & Entertainment Industry Spirit of Life gala dinner.

The honorees will receive a Spirit of Life Award, the cancer treatment and research center's highest philanthropic honor. This will be the first time the City of Hope will simultaneously fete six individuals.

The sextet are Paramount music division prexy Burt Berman, Fox music prexy Robert Kraft, Warner Bros. Pictures prez of worldwide music Gary LeMel, Disney music prez Chris Montan, Universal Music Group film music prexy Kathy Nelson and president of worldwide music at Sony Pictures Lia Vollack.

The black-tie dinner will be held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Paul Reiser will emcee the evening, which is to include performances by Jewel, Johnny Mathis, Wynonna Judd, Chad Kroeger and composer Marc Shaiman. More than 1,500 industryites are set to attend.
