Univision names sales VP

Apodaca to integrate TV and online

MIAMI -- Spanish-lingo media conglom Univision Communications has tapped Jeff Apodaca VP of integrated sales and marketing.

Prior to joining Univision, Apodaca was vice prexy of sales and operations southwest/West Coast for the Excite Network.

At Univision, Apodaca will be responsible for the integration of local television sales for Univision and TeleFutura broadcast stations with Univision Online sales.

Based in Los Angeles, he will report to Thomas Arnost and Michael D. Wortsman, co-presidents of the Univision Television Group.

Separately, Univision Network announced that Venezuelan actor-singer-host Raul Gonzalez has joined its ayem (7-10 a.m. EST) talker "Despierta America" ("Wake Up America") as a co-host.

Fernando Arau, Giselle Blondet, Ana Maria Canseco and news anchor Neida Sandoval.

Since 1994, Gonzalez has been based in Miami, where he has worked as a producer of children's programming, hosted a series of specials for the Discovery Kids and Nickelodeon cable networks, and co-hosted "Sobre Ruedas," a popular Spanish-language AM radio program.

He has been a regular guest on "Despierta," and currently hosts the South Florida radio program "Las Tardes Calientes de 107.5 AMOR FM."
