The eight-day fest, francophone Belgium's counterpart to the Flanders fest, showed more than 150 films, shorts and documentaries from all over the world.
Other winners of Bayards d'Or included Ahmed Hafiane, for actor, and Hend Sabri for actress, both for the Franco/Tunisian production Poupιes d'argile.
The fest paid homage to Gallic icon Jean Rochefort, honored by a presentation of his films. Rochefort apart, the fest was light on big-name guests and heavy on local Belgian and French film talent, including director Alain Berberain, producer Dora Bouchoucha and thesps Boris Terral and Robert Charlebois.
