Mip equips screenings

Showcase to feature at least 20 pix or TV programs

PARIS -- Mipcom TV mart-goers needing a break from the cramped booths of distribbers will be able to see shows in the comfort of a roomy auditorium at this year's Cannes event, which runs Oct. 7-11.

The newly created MIP Screenings will showcase at least 20 movies or TV programs, including the world premiere of Hallmark Entertainment's "Mr. St. Nick," starring Kelsey Grammer.

Grammer and Hallmark Entertainment Chairman Robert Halmi Sr. will be in town to launch the show at a cocktail reception.

Other companies that have signed up include Telefiction Distribution (Canada), Grupo Minerva International (Italy), Beta Film (Germany), Anymationhouse B.V. (Netherlands), Odyssey (U.K.), Amsell, First Drum, Hallmark, Hearst, Keller, LevyMann, Lakeshore, Moonstone, Pantheon Holding and Screen Media Ventures (U.S.).
