Krumholz plans 'Grace' period in Parness pic

Thesp replaces Furlong in lead role

David Krumholz will star opposite Natasha Lyonne in the Filmnext production "Max and Grace." Pic is the feature writing and directing debut of playwright Michael Parness.

"Max and Grace" centers on a pair of suicidal lovers who wed in their psych ward and then break out to seek new ways to die. On their honeymoon, however, they instead discover new ways to live.

Krumholz replaces Edward Furlong, who was originally slated to take the role. (Daily Variety, June 24) Lensing is slated for Gotham in September and October at the new Stapleton Studios.

Pic also features Edie Falco, Tim Blake Nelson and Karen Black.

Krumholz and Lyonne previously starred together as brother and sister in the critically acclaimed comedy "Slums of Beverly Hills."

Gene Miller will produce with Filmnext prexy Kirklan Tibbets.
