Mark Evans' "My Little Eye" provides a long-awaited twist to the reality TV craze. It's distributed by Universal worldwide except in Canada where Odeon distribs.
Jonas Akerlund's first feature "Spun" is based on screenwriter Will De Los Santos' drug-fueled life. It includes appearances from Mickey Rourke, Mena Suvari and Deborah Harry. In "Volcano High," from South Korean Kim Tae-kyun, martial arts replace the three Rs.
Added to the list of the Rogers Industry Center's Maverick Filmmaker Sessions are: Michael Moore, Fruit Chan, Tilda Swinton, Brian DePalma and Paul Schrader. New guest speakers at the Telefilm Canada News and Views and Doc Salon include filmmakers Chen Kaige ("Together"), Park Ki-yong ("Camel), Ed Lachman ("Ken Park"), Jennifer Baichwal, Steve James, Udi Aloni and Peter Mettler, as well as veteran cinematographer Jack Cardiff.
The fest runs from Sept. 5-14.
