Mexican actor Roberto "Calambres" Cobo died Friday Aug. 2 in Mexico City of Cancer. He was 72.

He is best remembered as murderous El Jaibo in Spanish director Luis Bunuel's 1950 classic "Los Olvidados" (The Forgotten Ones), about impoverished street kids in Mexico City. He later played Manuela, transvestite father in Arturo Ripstein's 1977 film "El Lugar Sin Limites" (A Place Without Limits).

His list of credits stretch to more than 60, with his first film in 1946 (La Nina de mis ojos) and his last this year in "Sin destino." TV series included 1983's "La Pasion de Isabela" and 1998's "Yacaranday."
