CBS, comic ink for laffs
Former civil engineer has appeared on 'Improv,' ESPN

The project will be produced by Power Entertainment's Judi Brown and David E. Goldman, who have been tracking Caldwell's career on the comedy club circuit. While Caldwell isn't repped by the duo, the deal is a first for Power, as the company is making a foray into producing projects for non-clients.
Caldwell was spotted last month by CBS senior veep of comedy Wendy Goldstein and veep Julie Pernworth at Power's "New Faces" showcase at the Melrose Improv.
A savvy storyteller, Caldwell embarked on a standup career 10 years ago, after a civil engineering Ph.D program at Johns Hopkins University. TV credits include "An Evening at the Improv" as well as hosting ESPN's "Sports Figures."
