Dave Wilson

Emmy-winning television director

Emmy-winning television director Dave Wilson died June 30 of an aortic aneurysm in Parsippany, N.J. He was 69.

Wilson began his career helming shows such as "The Bell Telephone Hour" and "Kraft Music Hall." In 1975, he worked on the debut season of "Saturday Night Live." A year later, he won the first of four Emmys he would receive throughout his 17 years with the show. He also directed many side projects with "SNL" alumni, including showcase videos for Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner and John Belushi as well as Emmy-winning television specials featuring Jack Lemmon and Paul Simon. Additionally he helmed "The Miss America Pageant," "The Emmy Awards" and "The Muppet Show."

He is survived by his wife Roberta and three sons.
