Attwell chosen as BAFTA topper

Michael Attwell has been confirmed as the new chairman of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts, replacing Simon Relph.

Attwell is a veteran producer of factual TV programming and also did stints as an exec at the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. He runs his own production company, MAP-TV.

Relph, a film producer, will continue as BAFTA's deputy chairman for a year after he steps down July 1.
