Golenberg most recently served in Artists Management Group's TV lit department, but opted not to make the switch as the Firm absorbs most of AMG's business. Before joining AMG in February, Golenberg spent five years at William Morris.
"He's got great experience and great relationships all around town," said Gersh Agency prexy Bob Gersh. "If we find a terrific agent, we want to jump at that person."
The move to recruit Golenberg signals a new move by Gersh to expand its interests into TV lit.
"He knows that business in and out and will add a lot to our company," Gersh said of Golenberg.
Golenberg's clients include Jeffrey Pinkner, Rick Orci (both of "Alias") and Lon Diamond ("The Tick").
Before joining William Morris in 1997, Golenberg spent three years at Paradigm. He also had stints at Writers & Artists and Triad.
