Holodnik back to roots

Ex-Sweet Child exec worked on 'Spider-Man'

Laura Ziskin Prods. executive Sophy Holodnik has returned to agenting once more, this time joining Broder Kurland Webb Uffner as a feature literary agent.

Holodnik had been a senior VP at Sony-based producer's Sweet Child Prods., where she worked since March 2000, but ankled eight months ago.

While there, she worked on the production of the box office record-shattering "Spider-Man" and the adaptation of Donald Marguiles' Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Dinner With Friends" for pay cabler HBO.

Still, she says agenting remains her first love, having served as an agent at William Morris for six years, working with such clients as Trey Parker and Matt Stone ("South Park"), Clark Gregg ("What Lies Beneath"), Jan Sardi ("Shine"), Mike Werb ("Face/Off") and Ted Elliott & Terry Rossio ("Shrek").

"There were so many things I missed about being an agent," said Holodnik. "I liked the combination of being hands on with material and being an advocate for artists. And that's the thing about this place -- it's how they handle their artists."

In December 1999 Ziskin signed a three-year, nonexclusive production deal with Sony, where she remains.
