Based in Beverly Hills, Traction will rep finished films seeking North American distribution in addition to packaging and producing projects. "We're in a unique position to respond to the needs of independent filmmakers, most obviously in the need for money, autonomy and distribution," says Korenberg.
The company and the law firm will continue to operate as separate entities but will share some clients on a case-by-case basis.
"By combining Rosanne's creative and distribution background with our relationships, dealmaking experience and expertise, we can help navigate an increasingly difficult landscape," says Douglas Stone.
At Fox, Korenberg was involved in the acquisition of such titles as "Swimfan 85," which will be released by Fox this summer, "The Deep End," "Kissing Jessica Stein" and "Waking Ned Devine." She was also involved in international rights pickups for "Y Tu Mama Tambien," Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her" and "Crossroads."
Prior to joining Fox in 1998, Korenberg worked in acquisitions at the Samuel Goldwyn Co. and for the Los Angeles arm of Munich-based producer/distributor Constantin Films and Universal Pictures.
Stone, Meyer & Genow reps such clients as Kevin Spacey, Halle Berry, writer/producer Dean Devlin and producer Andras Hamori, as well as such indie production companies as Alliance Atlantis, Constantin and Kevin Spacey's Trigger Street Prods.
