Endemol adds Chile
Subsid to produce local version of 'Big Brother'
It already has announced plans to produce song competish "Operacion Triunfo," created by Spanish division Gestmusic Endemol, for Television Nacional de Chile .
Endemol, a unit of Telefonica's Admira of Spain, will run the Chilean operation through its Argentine subsidiary, P&P Endemol.
Endemol intends to produce "Gran Hermano," the local "Big Brother," and a handful of Endemol's other reality formats in Chile, said Mariano Chihade, content director at P&P Endemol.
Other formats in the pipeline include "Confianza Ciega," a spin on "Temptation Island," and "The People's Club," which follows a soccer team.
In addition to plans with TVN, Chihade said the company is in talks with No. 2 broadcaster UCTV/Canal 13 and No. 3 Chilevision, a unit of Claxson Interactive Group.
