Seven Arts polishes int'l sales for Lamping
New prexy joined by veeps Poole, Hoffman
Shingle will handle international sales on Seven Arts pictures, replacing Hoffman's partnership with Fireworks Pictures Entertainment, which dated to 1998.
New entity will sell foreign rights to the Par pic "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead," directed by Mike Hodges and starring Clive Owen; "Molly Deeds," directed by Charley Stadler and starring Milla Jovovich; "Stander," helmed by Bronwen Hughes, starring Thomas Jane and Embeth Davidtz; "No Good Deed," directed by Bob Rafelson and starring Samuel L. Jackson, Jovovich and Stellan Skaarsgard; and "Red America," from helmer Andrei Nekrasov.
Seven Arts also is in final negotiations with Par to produce and handle foreign distribution on "Asylum," the Stephen King-penned adaptation of Patrick McGrath's novel Pic, starring Natasha Richardson and Liam Neeson, is being directed by Paul McGuigan from King's screenplay.
Fireworks will continue to rep foreign rights to certain Seven Arts pics, including Par's "Rules of Engagement," "Rat Race" and "Hardball," as well as "Interstate 60," "Onegin," "American Rhapsody," "The Believer," "Who Is Cletis Tout" and "Shadow Hours."
Lamping, who will continue to be based in London, is joined in the LA office by Kate Hoffman as VP of marketing and Stephanie Poole as administration veep. Lamping previously headed his own consultancy as well as handling sales and marketing for film and TV for the past 10 years. He has been exec VP of Sovereign Pictures and senior VP of Orion Pictures Intl.
