Sorvino sez daughter Mira 'looked a lot like William Shatner'

The enduring love at the "Triumph of Love" premiere Thursday was obviously between Paul Sorvino and his daughter Mira -- star of Paramount Classics' upcoming film based on an 18th century Marivaux play.

"I think Mira did a great job," Paul said of his daughter's transgender role, "although as a man she looked a lot like William Shatner."

Paul obviously was taking some credit for his daughter, insisting Mira's nice gams come from him even going to the extent of hoisting his pant leg.

Mira, meanwhile was giving credit to Jean-Pierre Martino, her "Marivaux consultant" who, she said, "helped me work on the play in French. I needed to learn what the playwright intended. And he took me to the Louvre to study 18th century poses (from period paintings)."

Among those attending the fete at the new ArcLight venue (which preceded a Gotham preem) were co-star Ben Kingsley (who insisted on being called Sir Ben); helmer-scribe Clare Peploe; Par Classics' Ruth Vitale and David Dinerstein; "Big Paramount's" Rob Friedman; plus guests Ed Burns, Helen Fielding, Bai Ling and Anjelica Huston.
