Bradford pens big bucks at St. Martin's

Brit lit lady signs for $10 mil

Barbara Taylor Bradford has sold hardcover and paperback rights to her next three novels to St. Martin's Press in a deal worth more than $10 million.

A British-born doyenne of women's fiction who's had 10 of her 18 novels turned into TV miniseries, Bradford has published with several houses, and her backlist is scattered across various imprints.

Doubleday published her past few books in hardcover; the mass-market paperbacks were issued by HarperCollins.

St. Martin's disclosed no details of the three novels it acquired, but Bradford's books are known for their globe-trotting plots, attractive, successful women and tall handsome men.

She has sold 63 million copies of her books in 39 languages in 89 countries.

Bradford's husband, Bob Bradford, has produced such miniseries as "A Woman of Substance" and "Voice of the Heart," based on her books.

She was repped by Janklow & Nesbit.
