MusicMatch taps Csathy

New president to oversee Radio MX

Music software maker MusicMatch has named Net vet and former Universal exec Peter Csathy prexy and chief operating officer.

Csathy, who reports to chairman and chief exec Dennis Mudd, will focus on the company's day-to-day operations, as well as business development, sales, legal and financial operations. He's also expected to leverage his connections in the entertainment sector for new joint ventures and partnerships, particularly for MusicMatch's Radio MX subscription service.

Exec comes to MusicMatch from eNow, an online portal/content aggregator, where he was operating chief. Prior to that, Csathy was a senior VP at Universal Studios. He also held executive posts at Savoy Pictures Entertainment and New Line Cinema.

Csathy started his career in media as a music industry lawyer, repping such clients as Madonna and gangsta-rap progenitors N.W.A.
