HOLLYWOOD -- MGM Networks is launching branded channels in Russia, Portugal, Malta and South Korea. These, plus MGM Networks' launch in the Middle East earlier this year, nearly doubles the number of countries in which the Lion has established a channel presence.
Overall, MGM has equity interests in 40 countries around the world.
"Bringing MGM Movie Channels to Europe clearly reinforces the enduring strength of the brand and the exceptional demand for MGM programming worldwide," said MGM Networks exec VP Bruce Tuchman.
All Lion channels will offer round-the-clock offerings from its 4,000-title library.
