$11 mil offers don't faze Bullock

GOOD MORNING: "Don't talk to me about money. Money has nothing to do with what I do." So says Sandra Bullock, NATO/ShoWest's Female Star of the Year winner (Thursday in Las Vegas) and "People's Choice Awards" nominee. She is reportedly getting $11 million-and-up offers for future projects, but she tells me she is most proud of bringing in her first film, "Making Sandwiches," $200,000 under budget. She wrote, directs and stars in the film that says "life can be as simple as making sandwiches." Bullock was even more excited that Richard Attenborough, who'll direct her in "In Love and War," visited her on the "Sandwiches" set: "It was as exciting as the parting of the Red Sea!" She made the pic for Disney's New Voice arm, thanks to Roger Birnbaum, and Bullock says she retains ownership. The $11 million salary offer is attached to "Speed 2," but she says she's not yet attached: it all depends on the script, and she must work again with director Jan de Bont, producer Mark Gordon and Keanu Reeves. "It doesn't make a difference how much money is involved. I don't care." Meanwhile, she is fully involved with "the process of filmmaking, which I love." Her company is busy developing projects; "I am getting no sleep," she enthuses. She just completed "A Time to Kill" and has, in the next two years, "Hope Floats" and "Kate and Leopold." She remains family-oriented: her dad and mom (married 31 years) are in her showbiz banner, ditto her longtime agents, manager, press agent. She continues to live in the same house and wants to get married, have a family -- admits she'll be 30 in July. "This is a wonderful new era for me," she smiles.

AS PROMISED HERE, Demi Moore returned to Scores, the site of her studies for her "Striptease" role, to tape her Barbara Walters interview March 25. Demi obliged Walters and ABC cameras by getting on stage to demonstrate some of the moves she learned from the 100 (!) girls who work the "gentlemen's club." No, Demi did not take it off -- only her jacket, revealing a very decolletaged blouse. When Moore was "studying" there, Bruce Willis visited a couple of times with pals. Demi says strippers have "nothing to be embarrassed about," and she made strong friendships with many of them. Among Hollywoodites who visited the club at other times are Tom Arnold, who had a bachelor party there, while Charlie Sheen was (will be again) a regular. While Scores' ladies dance at the tables (for $20 per song), I am assured "There is no touching"..."It's no more playing games -- it's Andrew Dice Clay the way he was. The Dice Man is back and he ain't going away," assures Clay as he readies "Assume the Position," his HBO special taping Tuesday at the Palace. He admits he was told to drop his middle name and attitude for his CBSeries "Bless This House"-- and he says the cancellation "was a blessing in disguise." He's been working on material for the show for 18 months. "Its not about dirty words," he says, "but about attitude -- not being afraid." The material is so strong, he claims it will work at stadiums where he will tour. He says he's in great shape, did 602 situps the morning we talked. "And if the industry has any brains they'll throw some movies at me. (They did once, he admitted, with "Ford Fairlane.") I will establish the name 'King of Comedy' again." Richard Crystal produces ... How's this for a segue: On Tuesday, I spoke to a member of Katharine Hepburn's family at her house in Fenwick, Conn., who told me Kate was happily eating ice cream and was "getting stronger." But she was not strong enough to take her usual walk, because the winds were too strong. They did not think she had had pneumonia, but was exhausted from a virus. Hepburn will be 89 on May 12.

THE NEWEST AND BRIGHTEST JEWEL in BevHills is the Museum of Television & Broadcasting on North Beverly Drive and Little Santa Monica. I peeked in Tuesday as work continues around the clock, seven days a week for the March 17 gala and public opening the following day. From the entrance into the Danny Thomas lobby (where "Star Trek's" the first revolving exhibit) up to the magnificent, state-of-the-art-and-comfortable John Mitchell Theater, past the 65 viewing rooms where tapes of TV and radio's history can be viewed/listened to, the museum reflects the pride in the biz of the patrons and donors whose names adorn the varied rooms. The long overdue L.A. museum will be a must-see/hear for all ages and all peoples. And what a bonanza for neighboring businesses -- like Rodeo Drive shops across the alley! Full reports in a couple of weeks ... Guess who was at the Emporio Armani fashion show Tuesday in Milan: Woody Allen and Soon-Yi. Giorgio Armani invited Woody, who in turn invited Armani to his concert that night. Upcoming at Thursday's fashion show will be Martin Scorsese, who is readying to team with pal Armani on a pic venture ... Thomas Gifford, rumored as the author of "Primary Colors," delivered his latest, "Saints Rest" to Bantam. It's the U.S. sequel to his Rome/Vatican-set "The Assessini."
