CHRISTINE LAHTI'S HOPING to get off work on "Chicago Hope" in time Friday to view and vote for the best achievement in live-action short films. As noted here earlier, you've gotta be there to see 'em, pick one. And she's a nominee for her direction of Chanticleer's "Lieberman in Love." She'll also be honored March 16 at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, where they'll show the now-classic "Housekeeping," the 1987 Col feature in which she starred for director-screenwriter Bill Forsyth ... IF YOU HEAR, AS I DID, about the insertion of swastikas on the hands of Roger Rabbit on the Disney-Steven Spielberg "Best of Roger Rabbit" homevideo on the "Trail Mixup" seg -- ignore it. Disney, totally cooperative in checking out each frame carefully and digitally by concerned craftsmen, reports there was "absolutely nothing there." When I viewed it, I saw nothing with the naked eye. Disney would have recalled all cassettes had anything been found, I was assured, remembering the Jessica Rabbit incident ... Joel Silver tells me the head on the original "Predator" (created by Stan Winston) in his office has been stolen. "I couldn't believe it," Joel said, "I was in dubbing ('Executive Decision') until 1 ayem and when I came back to the office at 9 -- it was gone!" If it turns up at any of these memorabilia auctions -- and they fetch a lot of dough for "Predator" stuff -- be forewarned, it's stolen property ...
