ATA board: SAG deal a go
Thesp union to vote Monday
"ATA and its New York counterpart, National Assn. of Talent Representatives, are united in supporting this tentative agreement as it assures continued uncompromised representation while allowing agencies to grow their businesses to generate more opportunities for clients," the org announced Tuesday.
The Screen Actors Guild board will vote on the pact Monday, triggering a referendum of members if approved.
SAG staff has been holding briefings with board members this week over objections that such activity by staff is premature. However, CEO Robert Pisano has told board members that he has the power to act unilaterally since there is not yet a board policy on the issue.
