Vanity Fair partners on Tribeca fest

Event to showcase world premiere, indie film

Vanity Fair will serve as founding media partner for the first Tribeca Film Festival, to run in lower Manhattan May 8-12. The mag will also play host to the fest's kickoff party.

"Vanity Fair is thrilled to be part of such an exciting event," said Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair. "It's a privilege to join Jane (Rosenthal) and Bob (De Niro) in supporting the independent spirit of New York City and the film community at this time."

Fest, which has a mandate to revitalize lower Manhattan, will showcase world premiere and independent films, including categories for feature-length pics, docs, shorts and directorial debut features. Fest will also host educational workshops and a children's film program, with all events taking place in Tribeca.
