Showest taps Hartnett

Confab's 2002 Male Star of Tomorrow

Josh Hartnett, who stars in "Black Hawk Down" and toplines upcoming comedy "40 Days and 40 Nights," was named ShoWest 2002's Male Star of Tomorrow.

Hartnett, 23, will be feted at a March 7 awards gala set to close the annual trade show. ShoWest 2002 begins March 4 at Las Vegas' Paris and Bally's hotels.

"Josh Hartnett is one of the most promising actors of his generation," said Robert Sunshine, chairman of Sunshine Group Worldwide. "He is a talented young man whose acting skills demonstrate passion and skill well beyond his years."

Hartnett burst into broader prominence with a toplining role in last summer's "Pearl Harbor," starring opposite Ben Affleck. He also starred in last year's "Othello" update, "O"; other credits include roles in films such as "Town & Country" (2001) and "The Virgin Suicides" (1999).
