Karel Roden

Czech actor Karel Roden ("15 Minutes") has landed a part in MGM's chopsocky actioner "Bulletproof Monk." Pic is based on the short-lived underground comic series published by Image Comics and Flypaper Press. Roden will play Struker, a man in search of a sacred scroll that has been in the hands of a monk with no name (Chow Yun-Fat) for the last 50 years. Once Struker acquires it, the scroll enables him to return to his youth and fight off the monk and his student, played by Seann William Scott. Pic will be helmed by musicvid director Paul Hunter. John Woo and Terence Chang produce via their Lion Rock shingle, along with Chuck Roven's Atlas Entertainment. Roden next will be seen in New Line's "Blade II."
