Cahners Business Information, the parent company of
Daily Variety, has changed its name to Reed Business Information.
The name change is designed to more closely align the company with its corporate owner, the global media conglomerate Reed Elsevier.
Reed Business Information will consist of three divisions that were formerly part of the Reed Business Group: Cahners Business Information (United States); Elsevier Business Information (Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Italy); and Reed Business Information (United Kingdom, Asia and Australia.).
"This rebranding initiative driven by Reed Elsevier will further extend our market leadership position," said Jim Cassella, CEO, Reed Business Information. "Our global resources create new platforms for growth and will enable us to further our commitment to our publications and service companies."
Reed Business Information produces more than 135 business trade publications, including
Daily Variety, Video Business, Broadcasting & Cable, Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. The company also operates more than 125 Web portals as well as online services, custom publishing and directories.
