EMI ups Artaud, Chapeau in France

Capitol topper Lumbroso exits

LONDON -- EMI has named Alain Artaud president of Capitol Records France and Laurent Chapeau president of Virgin Records France.

The appointments are but the lastest shuffle in EMI Recorded Music chairman and CEO Alain Levy's restructuring of the British music giant.

Artaud replaces Marc Lumbroso, who headed Capitol in the territory since 1999, and comes to the job from the post of general manager of the label Source and the Labels division of Virgin France. Chapeau was GM of Virgin Records France.

Both will report to EMI Recorded Music Continental Europe chairman and CEO Emmanuel de Buretel, who is assuming the role of prexy for EMI Recorded Music France for the time being.
