Character actor Guy Stockwell, who appeared in nearly 30 movies and 250 TV series episodes, died Thursday Feb. 7 of undisclosed causes at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Ariz. He was 69.
Stockwell, brother to fellow actor Dean Stockwell, had roles in such TV series as "Simon and Simon," "Knight Rider," "Magnum P.I.," "Murder She Wrote," "Quantum Leap," "Adventures in Paradise," "Richard Boone Anthology" and "Return to Peyton Place."
In features, Stockwell appeared in "The Warlord" starring Charlton Heston, and "And Now Miquel," a 1966 remake of "Beau Geste."
He helped create the Los Angeles Art Theater and starred in the title roles of two productions that received international attention -- "Hamlet," and his own adaptation of "Crime and Punishment." He traveled the country, starring in "The Seagull," "Born Yesterday" and "The Misanthrope."
He also taught at UCLA for two years in the masters program for acting.
Native New Yorker had lived in Prescott about five years.
Besides his younger brother, he is survived by his first wife, Suzanne, a daughter and two sons.
