BBC World to bow new skeins

'Islam,' 'East' aimed at Asian auds

CALCUTTA -- BBC World, the international arm of the Brit pubcaster, is bowing programs specifically aimed at Indian and Asian auds.

"Islam UK," a seven-part series, probes the diversity of the Muslim experience in Britain today. The three-part "East," beginning this month, examines the lives of three young British Asian women who fled forced marriage in Pakistan. The Asia-India spread signs off with "Bindi Millionaires," which looks at three British Asians who made it to the Sunday Times Rich List.
